Stereogum reports that Vancouver rockers Black Mountain have announced the release of their soundtrack for the upcoming surfing apocalypse (“surfpocalypse”?) movie, Year Zero.
You might be wondering how Stephen McBean has managed to balance this, while working on his new project Grim Tower, and supposedly we’ll be getting a new album from The Pink Mountaintops soon. Well, not all of the songs on the Year Zero soundtrack are new ones I’m afraid, so this can’t officially go down as a new album. But, there are a decent number of new songs, five to be precise, and one of them is the epic 8-minute jam “Mary Lou” which we have for free download for you below.
The soundtrack comes out on April 3rd through Jagjaguwar. Above you have the album cover, below you have that song download as promised, as well as the soundtrack’s track list and the movie’s trailer.
