Awesome WTF: Why does “Myth” sound so familiar to me?

Today it finally hit me.

So, for comparison, I present:

Beach House – “Myth” (2012)

and

Donkey Kong Country OST – “Aquatic Ambiance” (1995)

Some part of me wants to believe they borrowed their melody from an awesome SNES game, but this coincidence is pretty awesome either way.
