Easy Lover’s story is simple: “We got together because we both wanted to make pretty songs. And so we did.” From that drive, the Brooklyn duo have created the music to their second EP, The Night We Breathe, which is due out October 15th. “New Olivia” is fresh cut from the release, and it showcases a contrast of twinkling xylophones, hooting owls, and big drones that sounds slyly indebted to the 1980’s. On top of that is Kali Holloway’s huge voice, something that resembles Zola Jesus but that bit more down to earth and a touch more fluttery come the song’s verses. Have a listen to “New Olivia” below.
