If you were thrown with the relative lack of wackiness from of Montreal’s “fugitive air,” the first track from their forthcoming new album, lousy with sylvianbriar , then I hope you’re still in the same accepting mindset. “she ain’t speakin’ now” is a somewhat raucous stomper, with chunky electric guitar riff, a slide-guitar-led country tinge, and, as Kevin Barnes promised upon detailing the album before its 8th October release on Polyvinyl and Joyful Noise, the vocal are up front and clear.
