Prolific rapper Freddie Gibbs recently shared information concerning his new album ESGN (aka Evil Seeds Grow Naturally), which is slated to be released on July 9th. You can check out the single art above. But Gibbs has also given us our first taste of the new record.
Produced by Sap and featuring Compton rapper Problem, the lead single from the record, “One Eighty Seven,” is a dark, visceral tromp through an urban sprawl of desolate, burned-out buildings and collapsing dreams. The tracks on his previous mixtapes seem downright sunny in comparison. Hear the track below.
And don’t forget, Gibbs is set to release a collaborative album with Madlib called Cocaine Pinata later this fall. We’ll keep you updated on that as information is released.
