There are so many music-related series coming out in 2010 that many of us are going to stay poor, it seems. There’s the Madlib Medicine Show series, which will release one installment per month for a year. On the other side of cool, Elvis Costello is steadily releasing a series of live albums called The Costello Show. The first album, Live at the El Mocambo, came out in September of last year. The second album in that series, Live at Hollywood High, is slated for a release tomorrow, January 12 in the U.S. Release dates for other countries and markets have not yet been given.
Some tracks on Live at Hollywood High were initially released as accompanying promotional tracks for the highly-acclaimed Armed Forces album when it was released in 1979. However, this release is expected to be the full live 1978 recording, so more than half of these songs will have been previously unheard.
You can hear short clips of the tracks on Amazon. Hear the young, fiery Elvis Costello and be amazed.
