The new video for Yo La Tengo’s “I’ll Be Around” features lots of text, but pretty much none of it is to do with the song. Instead of lyrics, director Phil Morrison fills the screen with a dialogue impossible to read in the few seconds it appears, and lots of cooking instructions. Beneath all these words is Mac McCaughan playing the song on guitar in a wooded area, before the scene changes to the band cooking up a meal, which takes a unexpected turn. It’s rather humorous, in a gentle sort of way. Watch the video for the Fade cut below.
