Not to fuel the flames of negative press, but this one is simply too damn funny to ignore. Nicki Minaj was set to perform at T in the Park in Scotland this past week, and ran into some, shall we say, problems.
The Young Money rapstress arrived 50 minutes late to her performance – and her notoriously Scottish audience wasn’t having it. They booed her, according to the UK Sun, “after every song”. Unfair? Wait til you hear why she was late.
The hip hop diva felt the grass around her dressing room was too tall, and demanded it be cut short before she begin. A source explained to the Sun, “Nicki went off on one about the grass around her area, saying it was far too long for her to walk on. She threw a complete strop, pouting and pointing and asking someone to get a lawnmower to sort it out.”
So, after the helpless staff caved to her demands, she strolled on stage 50 minutes late, only staying half an hour. English folk rocker Frank Turner couldn’t even hold his tongue, tweeting, “You can (I suppose) be a d*** to your own crew, you’re paying them. But everyone else? Not to mention the people out front. Ugh.” Followed by, “To clarify: Nicki Minaj has been a selfish s***head to all the hard-working crew backstage at T. Pathetic. F*** off.”
Well, damn. Diva antics to a whole new level.
