1991: The Year That Punk Broke celebrates its 20th birthday this year and will receive a reissue on DVD for the first time ever, Rolling Stone reports. Directed by Dave Markey, the film will be available on September 6th.
The film documents Sonic Youth’s 1991 touring with the likes of Nirvana, The Ramones, Dinosaur Jr., and Babes In Toyland, and the new release promises some never before seen Nirvana footage among the 65-minutes of new material All of the tape in The Year Punk Broke has been restored and remastered.
