Polyphonic Spree’s Tim DeLaughter forms new band

Tim DeLaughter, best known for leading the musical collective The Polyphonic Spree is taking a few steps into his past with his new band Preteen Zenith. Not only does the band’s name suggest memories of times past, but joining him in this excursion is Philip Karnats, his former band mate in pre-Spree band Tripping Daisy. Since Tripping Daisy split Karnats has been busying himself with The Secret Machines amongst other projects. Backing these two spearheads are Dylan Silvers and Jason Garner, both current members of The Polyphonic Spree.

There are no releases lined up for Preteen Zenith, but DeLaughter promises to reboot his label Good Records Recordings in order to put out the band’s music. So far they have booked one show on July 23rd at Gorilla vs. Bear festival.

DeLaughter plans to balance both Preteen Zenith and Polyphonic Spree simultaneously, promising new music from the Spree soon too.

More information on Preteen Zenith including how the band came into formation is available on their website.
