Death Cab For Cutie’s new video will be recorded and broadcasted live

In the past there have been a number of single-take videos, perhaps made most famous by the efforts of OK Go (who pretty much built their career on having fun and noteworthy videos), but now Death Cab For Cutie are taking it to the next level.

The band will perform their video for new single “You Are A Tourist” in a single take, while the whole world watches. It’s similar to what 30 Rock did this year with their live broadcast, except Death Cab aren’t professional actors, so it could go horrendously wrong. The video is directed by Tim Nackashi.

You can watch the recording live at 7pm EST Aril 5th (a week today) at http://youareatourist.com. On the day of the recording sneak peaks and behind the scenes photos will be posted on the official Bing Facebook page.

If you think you’ll forget or haven’t heard the song yet (or want to hear it again) then here is a useful YouTube for you.

“You Are A Tourist” is taken from Death Cab For Cutie’s upcoming album Codes And Keys, which will be released on May 31st.
