Battles reveal Gloss Drop cover art, unleash goopy billboards around the world

That which you see above is the cover for Battles’ new album Gloss Drop. It looks to me kind of like a brain that’s been crushed in a Playdoh factory. I guess that’s one abstract description of how listening to Battles makes your brain feel. In reality it looks more like a huge pile of silly string, which is probably much closer to what it actually is.

The band (or more likely their label, Warp) have started a worldwide ad campaign for Gloss Drop which features the front cover image on huge billboards.

Drowned in Sound has spotted them in several places. Check them out in New York, Austin, London and Dubai respectively. And make sure to stream the studio version of “Ice Cream” at the bottom.

Gloss Drop is being released by Warp on June 6th/7th (Europe/North America).
