Due to poor ticket sales, promoters of the Florida based festival had to cancel the event. Sadly, this isn’t that surprising. Putting on a festival cost a lot of money, and with the current recession, it’s actually surprising that not more festivals are getting closer to the red. The same can be said for the consumer, as it costs a lot of money to attend a festival. With most festivals costing more then $300+ to attend (including ticket fees, food, flight tickets etc) – it is easy to see why festivals might not be as appealing as they once were.
The Florida Festival was set to have big acts such as Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie and Ryan Adams & the Cardinals. Those that already purchased tickets will be refunded in full.
