UPDATE: Eminem scraps Relapse 2, album Recovery coming out June 22

Eminem took to his twitter account today to announce “There is No Relapse 2”. Vague to say the least. This was a follow up to an earlier post on March 30th that said: “And don’t worry. Some big news is coming. Soon.” So was this the big news? Eminem has been in the studio diligently touching up on Relapse 2, so it’s very possible he decided to scrap the title/concept all together and just call it something else. Hopefully this is the case. If an album is still coming, we can probably expect an announcement soon with the new album title/details.

We’ll keep updating as the story develops.

UPDATE:

“I had originally planned for Relapse 2 to come out last year,” says Eminem. “But as I kept recording and working with new producers, the idea of a sequel to Relapse started to make less and less sense to me, and I wanted to make a completely new album. The music on Recovery came out very different from Relapse, and I think it deserves its own title.” – Eminem

The first single is produced by Jim Jonsin, and as of right now, the album also has production by Just Blaze, Boi-1da and DJ Khalil.
