King Buzzo shares video for “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” and delays album

King Buzzo, aka Buzz Osborne from The Melvins, has a new album coming out called Gift of Sacrifice, which sadly will remain under wraps a little longer than expected, as the release date has been pushed back to August 14. On the bright side, he has shared a new song called “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” along with a video. The whole album was recorded with Mr. Bungle bassist and his former bandmate in Melvins (Lite), Trevor Dunn, but “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” was a special recording:

“’I’m Glad I Could Help Out’ is the only song on the album that was done in a single take,” explains Osborne. “Trevor and I recorded this in one live session and I couldn’t have been happier with what the result was.”

Like previous King Buzzo single “Science in Modern America”, “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” is a frail but snarling acoustic song, with Buzz’s inimitable drawl colouring the atmosphere in regal purples and blues. The video for “I’m Glad I Could Help Out” is minimal, but extends the starkly engrossing world of the song into a visually magnetic piece. Watch and listen below.
