Honestly, there’s little point (or hope) in trying to fully describe the music of 100 gecs. They’re certainly descendants of 3OH!3, but take the wall-to-wall sound of their predecessors to far more bizarre, idiosyncratic ends.
Their latest single, and fan favorite from their current tour, “mememe” is no exception, opening with the instant repeated earworm of “you’ll never really know anything about me,” before launching into a heavy riff and electronic hysterics.
Once again, there’s little purpose in trying to over explain just what 100 gecs do, so you’re much better off just listening for yourself. Check out “mememe” and its equally goofy video below or listen to the song on streaming platforms.
