When LCD Soundsystem‘s latest album This is Happening released this summer, there were also digital versions available featuring a bonus track entitled “Throw.” The track was a cover of Detroit-house master Carl Craig and his band Paperclip People, a brooding and spiraling homage to one of techno’s true pioneers. And this Fall it appears as though “Throw” will finally be available physically, set to be released as the B-Side to a re-release of “Throw” on Craig’s own Planet E records. LCD Soundystem’s rendition is nothing short of masterful, combining endless hi-hat hits and looping bass lines that eventually explode behind James Murphy’s skewed screams.
