The first single from Wild Beasts’ upcoming third album Smother premiered on British radio last night. The song is entitled “Albatross” and is predictably gorgeous. Rather than focusing on intelligent rhythms and outstanding hooks as they did for the majority of their last album, this new one is a subtle blend of beautiful pianos, oozing bass, simplistic guitar, hushed backing vocals and Hayden Thorpe’s beautiful and not overbaked falsetto.
