Wax Fang are back with another stand alone single for the summer, and even after the upbeat vigour of previous single “The Blonde Leading The Blonde,” this time they’ve upped the ante again. “King Of The Kingdom Of Men” is a seven minute sprawling track driven by acoustic guitars and sweeping strings, revealing an almost soothing side to the band. It’s a refreshing wash of energy in a completely different way to last time (or even compared to the similarly long track from last year’s Mirror, Mirror EP), but lead singer Scott Carney can’t release himself from the hold of epic-ness completely, falling into a graceful guitar guitar solo in the song’s closing minutes.
