Much beloved pop-rock/indie/emo band Death Cab For Cutie will release their new album Codes and Keys on May 31st. Preliminary interviews with the band have promised an adventurous change in sound for the band, something I personally feel they need, but am unsure whether they can do.
Well the time has now come for the start of scrutiny. Here are two new Ben Gibbard solo live cuts of songs that will be on the album, the title track “Codes and Keys” and “When The Sun Goes Down On Your Street” recorded at the recent Noise Pop Festival in San Francisco. Have at them. (Correction: The latter is a new Ben Gibbard song from the new Russell Brand film Arthur)
