Following the release of his Bon Iver collaboration “Fall Creek Boys Choir,” the interest in James Blake seems to have peaked once again, after a slight mid-year slump. The fact that he’s releasing a new EP, Enough Thunder, is an exciting piece of news, and while “Fall Creek Boys Choir” got us interested, I think “Not Long Now” should get us excited. James Blake’s 2010 EPs were about subtle manipulations of the dubstep sound, his early 2011 album was much more about his vocals and closer to RnB, but it seems his late 2011 EP will be a subtle and beautiful blend of the two.
The song “Not Long Now” was played on Gilles Peterson’s radio show, and a radio rip has surfaced on YouTube. Listen below.
Enough Thunder sees release through Atlas on October 10th.
