New Build announce debut album ‘Yesterday Was Lived and Lost’


Hey, guess what? There’s another Hot Chip side project on the way! Al Doyle and Felix Martin, both of whom are main components of the British dance rock band Hot Chip, are teaming up with composer and engineer Tom Hopkins for a dark, disco pop record. Yesterday Was Lived and Lost will be out April 3rd on Lanark Recordings. “Finding Reasons,” as you might remember, was released last year as the band’s first single, but now New Build have a four track teaser set available for streaming purposes. With mixing and post-production help from PLANNINGTOROCK, there’s definitely a consistent, tight knit group of people who worked on the album, which is reflected in these new songs. I always feel bad comparing a band with a small catalogue to a bunch of other acts, but in the press release for this announcement and the other coverage leading up to Yesterday Was Lived and Lost, New Build appear to fully embrace their contemporaries like LCD Soundsystem or Holy Ghost!
