Missy Elliott & Timbaland Debut New Track

While Timbaland may have gone off the deep end into the territory of lame Shock Value releases and Miley Cyrus and Chad Kroeger collaborations (seriously, what happened Timbo?), his early musical partner is still of great interest. Missy Elliott hasn’t released a proper album since 2005’s somewhat half-baked Cookbook, endlessly delaying her now near mythical project Block Party. Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim can bicker over who gets to be Queen Bee, but Elliott’s material easily out-paces both bickering sex dolls, not to mention Missy never had to subjugate herself to the usual levels of a woman in hip hop.

Essentially, any suggestion of new material from Ms. Elliott is quite exciting. Timbaland was playing Hennessey’s #WildRabbit party in New York, and brought out his former partner for a performance of a brand new, never before heard track. Considering this follows Timbo playing other new songs from the duo at his SXSW appearance, this certainly suggests the two have more brewing. Could Block Party finally be near? You can’t tell too much about quality from the footage, but watch some of the performance below.
