Lazy Day surge with power on “All The Time”

London quartet Lazy Day released their Letters EP last year, and are surging onwards with a powerful new single called “All The Time”. It’s the first song the band has put out in 2020, and deals with a topic we’ve all been feeling this year, as band leader Tilly Scantlebury explains:

“I wrote ‘All the Time’ a few years ago, when I was feeling really frustrated at how difficult I was finding it to shake off all the things that were getting me down. The lyrics flit between these feelings of resentment and defeat, but I wanted the song as a whole to sound really defiant. Writing and performing ‘All the Time’ allowed me to regain some sort of control over what was happening in my life, instead of freaking out about all the things I felt like I was losing.”

At the moment it’s harder than ever to shake off our worries and frustrations, but songs like “All The Time” are a useful tool. Channeling these powerful physical feelings, Lazy Day surge into “All The Time” full of determination, then swing back into a more placid piano-led section, before coming cavorting back into the power rock of the song’s main hook. In three minutes, Lazy Day manage to encapsulate the wildness of mood swings and also transmit the power of blasting through any mental walls that may stand between you and satisfaction.

No news yet as to whether Lazy Day have another EP or a debut album in the works, but they are having an online release party for “All The Time” tonight at 8pm GMT on their Instagram. You can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
