Factory Records gets retrospective collection courtesy of Strut

This October, Strut, known for their retrospective and historical collections such as Nigeria 70, will be releasing a 2xCD and 2xLP cataloguing some of the most influential house and dance music of the 80s. FAC. DANCE is curated by Bill Brewster of djhistory, highlighting the the label’s early and overlooked dance-floor based releases with artists such as Section 25, New Order, Quando Quango and 52nd St., FAC. DANCE collects the label’s 12″ mixes and rarities. A musical history lesson, FAC. DANCE traces the roots of the 1980s New York lofts, along with providing the blueprint for Manchester’s seminal 80s scene. It’s a world worth re-visiting if not solely for the music, then at least for its personalities and anecdotes.
