Wild Nothing reveal sophomore album details; stream new song “Shadow”

Back at the end of January, Jack Tatum’s Wild Nothing teased us with the release of a new song entitled “Nowhere” and no announcement of an album to follow up his glorious 2010 debut LP Gemini.

So finally, here we are, over four months later on and finally we get the scoop on album number two from Wild Nothing, and it turns out “Nowhere” didn’t even make the final cut! The LP is set for an August 28th release on Captured Tracks and it is entitled Nocturne.

“The new album Nocturne, is a window into Tatum’s “ideal world” of pop music,” states the press release, before going on to tell us that “The obsessiveness of Nocturne is inherent in it’s gentle harmonies, orchestrated synths, wandering voice, and songs that speak of his post-Gemini experiences as he explores new paradoxes of pop… And yet Nocturne isn’t obvious, it is a strange and distinctive musical beast, the product of an obsessive pop vision that creates its own reality.”

Below you can hear the glorious lead single from the album, “Shadow,” which will be release on 7″ single on June 26th. Beneath that you can see Nocturne‘s track list and Wild Nothing’s tour dates, including many with Beach House this summer.
