The fine folks over at HipHopDX and Pepsi Pulse have run down their top five hip-hop albums that they want to hear in 2014. You can read the piece here.

We took a shot at our own list and then realized that it should be titled The Top Five Hip-Hop Albums We Probably Won’t Hear In 2014.

1. A proper follow-up to Madvillainy (DOOM + Madlib)
2. Black Star (Mos Def Yasiin Bey + Talib Kweli) – Black Star Aretha
3. Dr. Dre – Detox (we also welcome his album on the Solar System)
4. a new Wu-Tang Clan album (GZA’s Dark Matter has us equally excited though)
5. Action Bronson’s first major label studio album

What do you think? Let us know what hip-hop albums you’re looking forward to next year in the comments below.
