Ryan Adams Debuts Art Show

By ; August 19, 2009 at 7:16 PM

When Ryan Adams was being called prolific years ago, it was for his constant album releases. After, he decided to write two books in two years; with another one on the way. Now, he’s showing some lucky people his original paintings and collages on September 23rd at the Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York City.

Before his art show, Adams will become the first artist in residence at the Morrison Hotel Gallery. While there, he will be creating EVEN MORE canvases in the front of the gallery to auction off at his show’s opening. All the money will directly benefit the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, an organization focusing on ending AIDS and homelessness.

What more can Adams get under his belt? He’s had a successful collection of albums and Infinity Blues was quite a unique collection of prose. Can he become an acclaimed painter too? From the quality of the material he continues to release, whether its music or poetry, it seems there’s no limit on Adam’s artistic ability.

If you can’t make it to New York City, a slideshow of a few paintings can be viewed at http://www.morrisonhotelgallery.com.
