Nightlands prep sophomore album for Secretly Canadian, share new song

As a side project of The War On Drugs bassist Dave Hartley, Nightlands occupy the same vein of 70’s AM pop as artists like Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds and Stephen Bishop.   Nightlands have just released details concerning the release of their sophomore album Oak Island out January 22 via Secretly Canadian.  The band has released the first song, “So Far So Long,” from the album for their fans to hear.  The song ambles along confidently, with gentle electronics flowing quietly behind Hartley’s  echo-laden vocals, as an insistent, though never obtrusive, beat pulls the song along into some hazy Pacific Coast fog.  Hear the song via Secretly Canadian’s YouTube stream below.  Also check out the tracklist to Oak Island below the embed.
