New eclectic David Lynch-curated charity compilation now available

By ; July 12, 2011 at 4:56 PM

David Lynch has made a couple of forays into music over the past couple of years, either assisted by the likes of Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse, and on his own. Pair that with the fact that he always has good soundtracks for his movies and television shows and you start to wonder why the hell not let Mr. Lynch pick 33 tracks for a charity album? The selections made are eclectic to say the least, but unfortunately not enough to include Lynch’s old musical cohort Angelo Badalamenti.

The compilation, entitled Download For Good, is digital only and available now on iTunes. All proceeds from sales go the the David Lynch foundation, which helps support at-risk inner-city youth, war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, and “Native Americans, homeless adults and children, and prisoners” overcome their respective problems by giving them free lessons in transcendental meditation. A truly unique charity, then.
