Well, we know music festivals work in America, but what about abroad, in places like South America and Europe, where the idea of music festivals is as foreign as our fried cuisine and private health insurance. – awkward silence –

Well, needed or not, American music festivals are making their way into other countries, with Lollapalooza Chile already debuting this year. Today, Lollapalooza has announced a third festival (yes, Chile will return next year) set for Brazil. No lineups are know (of course), but we do have the dates for all three Lollapaloozas:

Lollapalooza Chile at O’Higgins Park in Santiago March 31 – April 1
Lollapalooza Brazil at Jockey Club in Sao Paolo April 7-8
Lollapalooza USA at Grant Park in Chicago August 3-5

In separate news, Pitchfork Festival Paris added a couple interesting pieces to their lineup in the form of Real Estate and Four Tet. This is on top of the previously announced acts of Bon Iver, Aphex Twin, Washed Out, Iceage, Cut Copy, Jens Lekman, Wild Beasts, Pantha du Prince, Erol Alkan, Stornoway, Mondkopf, and Kathleen Edwards. This fest goes down at Le Grande Halle de la Villette on October 28-29.
