Bon Iver readies new record for June release

After releasing For Emma, Forever Ago in 2008 (self released in 2007) and the Blood Bank EP a year later, Bon Iver has been mostly quiet. Justin Vernon, the band’s frontman and creative force, has worked with Kanye West and Gayngs, among others, but only now are we getting word of a new record from his adored band.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Vernon noted that his band’s as-yet-untitled sophomore record would be out this June. The album will feature 10 tracks, each inspired by a different place. He also revealed the title of two of those tracks: “Perth” and “Beth/Rest.” He refers to the former as “a Civil War-sounding heavy metal song. It’s sort of chaotic, dense, jarring,” so it sounds as though the Bon Iver sound will veer off in an interesting direction.
