Sheffield indie rockers and One Thirty BPM favourites have checked in with NME to give a status report on their new album, their fourth full-length.

The band reportedly started recording the album in London late last year and are now heading to Los Angeles to work on the bulk on the album and finish it off. They have enlisted James ford of Simian Mobile Disco to produce the whole album. Ford has previously worked with the Arctics, producing “Secret Door” and “Cornerstone” on their last album Humbug and some other work on their second album Favourite Worst Nightmare.

Arctic Monkeys hope to get the album out as soon as possible, with the earliest projection being a late-Spring release. The band will hope to have their new album ready to go by the time they tour this summer, headlining festivals in Europe including Benicassim in Spain, Oxegen in Ireland and Southside in Germany confirmed so far.
