Watch: Wild Beasts play stripped down versions of new songs on French television

You may or may not have already gotten around to streaming the new Wild Beasts album Smother. Either way it’s always nice to hear a talented band perform their songs in their most basic incarnation, especially when you’re possessed with two of the most distinctive and beautiful voices in modern music, as Hayden Thorpe and Tom Fleming are.

Here we have the pair playing with nothing other than an acoustic guitar and their voices, in a large (and very cold looking) warehouse for French site Telerama. The guys don’t move around much, but the level of concentration on their faces tells you how much effort they’re putting into this great performance.

The three songs performed are “Reach a Bit Further,” “Bed of Nails,” and “Deeper” all from the upcoming album Smother, which is out next week through Domino. Watch the performance below, and, if you haven’t already, stream the full album here.
