The National are often coupled with the term “Dad-rock,” but in their new video for “Graceless,” they show that despite their age, they’re still kids at heart. In the Sophia Peer-directed video, the band drink copious amounts of beer, throw each other in a swimming pool, ride waterslides in their suits, and jump about a bouncy castle like a bunch of five year olds on a sugar rush. Despite all the fun depicted, the band paid a price in the form of numerous injuries: Bassist Scott Devendorf suffer a minor concussion, Bryce Dessner got a back injury during filming, and lead singer Matt Berninger suffered a face injury after being thrown into the pool face first with glasses on.
