With a little over a month to go until The Big Pink release their sophomore album Future This, you might think that the lads would be spending time in their live performances trying to get the new songs down perfectly. Either they already feel that they’ve accomplished this already, or they just want to break loose and have some fun by covering The Smashing Pumpkins in the middle of their set. Either way, we’re appreciative to hear their take on this fan favourite. While they have been playing it in their proper gigs, this recording comes courtesy of their stop in BBC’s Live Lounge, hence the superior sound quality. Check it out below.

Plugging away since 1999, The National finally hit mainstream success with the release of their 2010 album High Violet. Of course, this entailed their first world tour, but in the new documentary Mistaken For Strangers, it’s only the backdrop for the relationship between lead singer Matt Berninger and his younger brother Tom, who had no idea that these short videos he was shooting would turn into a public document of their troubled, if still loving brotherhood.
