Listen: The Pains of Being Pure At Heart – “Belong”

Belong, the second album from New York jangle/dream pop group The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, seems like it’s been a long time coming; we heard brilliant the first couple of singles from it, “Say No To Love” and “Heart in Your Heartbreak,” months ago and somehow it’s still almost two months until the album is set for release.

At least for now we have another track to tide us over: the title track “Belong.” The Pains have worked with Alan Moulder and Flood who worked with The Smashing Pumpkins back in the 90s – where Pains draw most of their musical inspiration from – and have created their most grungy track to date. For those of you who don’t think that that sounds too promising, don’t worry it still has Pains’ trademark lighthearted vocals and jangly guitars in there too.

Check out “Belong” below.

Belong is set for release on March 29th through Slumberland in North America and Fortuna Pop! in Europe. That’s the album cover above.
