I think we were all surprised that Mogwai had announced a new release so shortly after they put out a new album, even if it is just an EP. You’ll be even more surprised when you hear Earth Division, because it’s very un-Mogwai like. Today you can hear the opening track “Get To France,” which really just serves as an introduction to the EP, but even still, it’s worth checking out because it is a beautiful and cinematic little piece.

The Earth Division EP is set for release on September 13th on Sub Pop in North America, and the day before in Europe on Mogwai’s own Rock Action Records.
Plugging away since 1999, The National finally hit mainstream success with the release of their 2010 album High Violet. Of course, this entailed their first world tour, but in the new documentary Mistaken For Strangers, it’s only the backdrop for the relationship between lead singer Matt Berninger and his younger brother Tom, who had no idea that these short videos he was shooting would turn into a public document of their troubled, if still loving brotherhood.
