Well, here’s another helping of Jizz-Jazz coming down the pipe. Mac DeMarco’s live guitarist Peter Sagar (no, not Pete Seeger) finally put out the first full length from his similarly heavy-lidded guitar pop project on Bandcamp last week. Entitled The Homeshake Tape, Sagar’s release treads less in the realm of bouncy melodies in favor of silky, sprawling constructions full of clean guitar hooks and sleepy vocals. It’s not too far removed from DeMarco’s own work, but Sagar’s persona is more of a dazed journeyman to Mac’s self-assured sleazeball.
