Elvis Depressedly - Holo Pleasures

South Carolinian hazy pop purveyors Elvis Depressedly are set to release holo pleasures, their latest collection of fidelically-challenged songs, on April 16th via Birdtapes. Originally conceived as a solo outing from Mat Cothran (Coma Cinema), Elvis Depressedly has recently expanded to a trio, with the addition of Eric Jones on bass and Delaney Mills on drums. The songs that comprise holo pleasures are the first songs which were written within a group context, and they certainly feel more collaborative than previous tracks. Blending subtle shoegaze tendencies with opaque musical references to early 90’s 4AD artists, Cothran, Jones, and Mills are making music which feels grounded in their influences but never feels bogged down by an over reliance on those same influences. They’re simply taking the next step. The band has recently released the second single “Weird Honey” from the album and you can hear it streaming below.
