Remember Nirvana Unplugged? Though a classic album, at the time when it was originally aired, there was a sort of backlash because the band neglected most of their big hits and included a number of obscure covers. One section, even includes a couple of guys from a band that was virtually unknow by the mainstream. That band was The Meat Puppets and they are among the more influential and incredible bands in indie rock.
So hopefully a new generation of fans can discover the Kirkwood brothers with their newly announced album, their first since 2009’s Sewn Together, titled Lollipop. The set was recorded at HiFi Studios in Austin, TX and will be released April 12th on Megaforce Records. Both Kirkwood brothers are present on the album, and we have the tracklisting courtesy of The Audio Perv.
