Alex Bleeker & The Freaks, aka Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker and a rotating cast of supporting musicians, are set to follow up 2010’s self-titled debut on Underwater Peoples with How Far Away on Woodsist Records. The album, due out May 28th, once again has Bleeker surrounded by like-minded friends and musical conspirators. Including Mountain Man’s Amelia Meath, Woods’ Jarvis Tanviere, Real Estate’s Jackson Pollis, and Big Troubles’ Sam Franklin, the album continues Bleeker’s fascination with collaboration and group mechanics, not to mention the ever present and immaculate jangle-pop sound that the band so diligently cultivates. And though the record doesn’t drop until late May, the band is already lining up an extensive pre-release run of dates. The band has also been kind enough to give us our first taste of How Far Away with new song “Don’t Look Down.” Listen to it below and check their tour schedule after the stream.
