Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame announces nominees: GnR, Beastie Boys, The Cure, RHCP, and more

The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame nominees look is a continually impressive yearly ritual that will remind you how many great acts are yet to make the hall and just how old some of these acts really are. Then, the field will be narrowed down to seven or so actual inductees, half of which you will have never heard of and with just enough cool shit to make you consider watching the all-star jam session induction ceremony. So, who is nominated this year?

Frist-time nominees include hip-hop pioneers Eric B. and Rakim, masters of 80’s gloom The Cure, stadium titans Guns N’ Roses, Rod Stewart’s The Small Faces/The Faces, “I Love Rock And Roll” performers Joan Jett And The Blackhearts, 70’s sister rockers Heart, funk patron Rufas with Chaka Khan, and blues artists Freddie King and The Spinners. Previous nominees who are up again include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, War, Donovan, Laura Nyro, and Donna Summer.

The 2012 induction ceremony will take place on April 14th and expect the inductees list to be released well before then. For a full list of previous hall inductees, check out the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame website here.
