Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones’ fame has recently been said to be working with songwriter-producer Dave Stewart, mostly known for his work with Eurythmics. Stewart and Jagger have previously worked together, their most recent collaboration being the soundtrack for the 2004 movie Alfie, and also earlier on Jagger’s 1987 solo album Primitive Cool, which Stewart produced, co-wrote and also played guitar on. A spokesperson for Stewart has confirmed that they are indeed working together but no further information has been released.
Jagger was most recently seen on his solo release The Very Best of Mick Jagger, released in 2007, and The Rolling Stones’ live album Shine A Light and the concert film by the same name, both released in April 2008.
Stewart released his latest project, The Dave Stewart Songbook Vol. 1, in August 2008, which consists of re-recordings of songs that Stewart wrote or co-wrote for other artists including Mick Jagger, Tom Petty and Beyoncé. He was also recently featured on Ringo Starr’s 2008 album Liverpool 8 as co-producer and guitarist.
