On February 14th Shearwater are releasing Animal Joy; their seventh album, and first to follow up the “Island Arc Trilogy.” This time around they’re going for more straightforward rockers, with less delicate embellishment of the sound. “Breaking The Yearlings” gave us our first taste of this, and now we have “You As You Were.” Even if the instrumentation is simpler, Jonathan Meiburg’s vocals are as passionate as ever, especially on this track.
