Today’s new discovery comes by way of Buzz Bands LA, who point out that LA-based New Zealander Bradley Hanan Carter has started a new project entitled NO with four other young men. The sound of the project is similar to that of The National, but Carter has somehow managed to find an even more un-googleable name than them. Carter’s voice, both audibly and lyrically, is reminiscent of Matt Berninger’s, and the way the debut song “Stay With Me” drives and builds is similar to the beloved New York band. That’s not to say that NO have nothing of their own to offer, because there’s plenty of subtle nuances here that seem to be idiosyncratic of these still young band, that will hopefully blossom as they release more material. We’ll have to wait and see. For now, grab a free download of the song “Stay With Me” below.
