John Talabot and Pional have recently been touring with The xx around Europe, supporting ƒIN and Coexist respectively (both of which feature in our Top 50 Albums of the Year). Talabot and his partner in crime have now gotten their hands all over The xx’s “Chained” and mixed it into a 8 and a half minute club warm-down that pays homage to The Streets’ classic “Blinded By The Lights.” Check out the track below.
Plugging away since 1999, The National finally hit mainstream success with the release of their 2010 album High Violet. Of course, this entailed their first world tour, but in the new documentary Mistaken For Strangers, it’s only the backdrop for the relationship between lead singer Matt Berninger and his younger brother Tom, who had no idea that these short videos he was shooting would turn into a public document of their troubled, if still loving brotherhood.
